Cheesecake & Cheese Steak

A few of you heard that Elaine and I made a quick trip to Philadelphia and New York last weekend. We were trying to come up with an idea for a Valentines Day and the best option was to fly somewhere using airline miles we have accrued. Well, we went to US Airways.com and checked out flights that were possible for the weekend that wouldn't use all our miles. We found a low mileage flight to Philly. So far we got away with not having to pay for our flight now we just need to find a cheap place to stay. It just so happens that Emily, Elaine's sister, lives in Philly. So we crashed with Emily and her roommates Adam and Tricia. (By the way, thank you guys so much!) We flew out Thursday night and took a bus to NYC Friday morning. We spent the all day Friday in New York and came home that night. Then we spent all Saturday and Sunday with Emily in Philly. We got to see all the main sites, ate all the "official" foods and I even got to run up the "Rocky" steps in Philadelphia. (Check out the video above.) It was a great trip and a nice getaway for us.

The next time we head to the airport it will be for Japan in March. Please pray we get ahead in our classes and that our trip to Japan goes off without a hitch.

Quick sidenote: Speaking of using airline miles ... my best friend is starting an organization that will allow people to donate their airline miles to missionaries who are in need of tickets.
